Up for sale is an original WWII German Heer (Army) officer visor cap (Schirmmütze). This example features the classic field-gray wool body with white piping, aluminum officer’s wreath and cockade, and an original aluminum eagle insignia. The cap retains its original shape and displays very well. The interior shows an original lining with visible size marking “57” and a partially visible maker stamp. This cap has not been altered, repaired, or messed with in any way — exactly how collectors like to see them.
Condition & Details:
Overall, a solid original example with honest age and wear.
•Sweatband is damaged/torn (as shown)
•Eagle is slightly loose/tilted due to one prong issue
•Exterior wool remains in good shape with nice color
•Insignia (eagle + cockade) are original and present
•Chin cord and buttons intact
•No modern repairs or restoration
Despite the flaws, this is an untouched, original cap, which is far more desirable than restored examples.
